Council of Waterdeep Part 4
Travelling North

The hills are quite as the Stag Party head back to Boarskyr Bridge. Back at the tent “city”, Bolo’s Tentside Inn, Errich convinces Bolo that Varram has been corrupted by the Snake People and needs to be taken to a powerful healer to cure his mind. Bolo noded sagely and agrees to keep him safe at night. Looking at the booty, Ring of Poison Resistance, two scrolls of protection from energy, a silver Euer and Gobblets of poison resistance (resistance and advantage against poison for three hours).

Leaving Boarskyr bridge toward Elturel, we here screams from behind them, the scream of dying peasants. The party turn back, leaving Jareath guarding Varram. As the party discover Cultists attacking the town, obviously looking for something.

Near Bolo’s tent there are Kobolds, Cultists, a Half Dragon and Guard Drake. Sir Axialrod moves forward into the centre and kills a Kobold , Errich moves beside him and Readys to attack anything near Sir Axialrod. Azim moves forward into defensive mode and looks in “Bolo’s Inn” tent, seeing a half dragon. The Kobold surge forward, one is killed by Errich. Sir Axialrod counters an attack on him killing another one. Janthyra Eldrich Blasts one Kobold to death. The Half Dragon sees the monk in the doorway and rips through the tent to get at the monk. With the tent ripped apart the other Cultists move into the street. Ulfgrim runs up the street, surges, then activates Spirit Guardians, cherub bomb.

Sir Axialrod, moves away from the Kobolds kills two Cultists. Errich uses his off hand to kill a kobold, moves through Ulfgrims legs and kills another Kobold. Azim critically hits the Guard Drake. The naked dwarven cherubs kill two Kobolds, hurt the Guard Drake and Half Dragon. One Kobold runs away. Meanwhile Janthyra hears the flap of wings as a red Dragon become visible, grabs her and flaps into the air.

The Guard Drake misses . Janthyra uses Misty Step to escape the clutches of the Red Dragon appearing above a tent. Falling through but doing really well. She then uses Eldrich Blast up its ass. Then chirps it. The Half Dragon then breaths on Errich, Azim and Ulfgrim. Azim side steps it, Errich takes a little fire damage but Ulfgrim takes alot. Cultists then move to attack Azim, one is killed by cherubs, the other one misses. Ulfgrim brings a Spritual Weapon into existence which then strikes the Half Dragon, moves forward and uses Green Flame Blade on his axe but misses. Sir Axialrod pulls out his longbow to attack but fails to string it, misses four times….. he is a terrible shot.

Errich uses Hunters Mark on the Red Dragon moves behind the Half Dragon hitting with the Dragontooth dagger. Azim hits the Half Dragon two times. The Red Dragon has a thing for Janthyra and breaths on her, and flies on. Jareath use Hex on the Red Dragon then Eldrich Blast it twice, doing massive damage. The Half Dragon and Cultist die due to the naked dwarven cherubs. Ulfgrim uses Guiding Bolt on the Red Dragon, hitting and lighting it up like a tree. Sir Axialrod waits as Errich misses with a shot, the Sir Axialrod hits once. Causing it to fear him. Azim uses his wand of Magic Missile to blast the beast. The Red Dragon keeps flying away.

The Stag Party then move help the people of Boarskyr Bridge. Janthyra has a battle of wills with the sword again, and losses again. A couple of hours later the party restart the trip south to Elturel. Two days later the party (two more days of failure from Janthyra). Back at the fortress to Order of the Gauntlet the stag party is Teleported back to Waterdeep.

Back in Waterdeep Leosin Erlanthar meets us and can take Varram into the Council of Waterdeeps keeping. The party is immediately able to travel north on the Longship “Frost Skimmer” looking for Mccath the Crimson. With the information the Party should start looking at a large iceburg near a village of Ice Hunters. The party set sail for the sea of moving ice, two days of Janthyra’s futile efforts to know about the large two handed sword. Finally she succeeds its name is “Hazirawn”, and could be useful. Basically evil. Arriving at the sea of moving ice, cold and moving. The Longship continues but slower.

Council of Waterdeep Part 3
Closing in on the White Wym Speaker

The day starts with heroes in a dark corridor with three dead Yuan-Ti. Six Axialrod looks up and to the left.

The decision to look in the chamber. The diamond shaped chamber has two walls has statues to snake deities the other have of Yuan-Ti statues with suits of plate armour. As the party enter small snakes slither from the walls and fill the armour, which then get up. Que battle music.


Errich acts first and shoots one rather poorly. Azim swings his magical mace, twice hitting once, then kicks it in armored codpiece. The Helmed Horrors then acts, hit Azim with his sword and poisoning him as well. Also hitting Janthyra once. Jareath casts Bane afflicting one suit of Armour. Janthyra casts Eldrich Blast hitting once. Ulfgrim swinging his axe, Hue, smashing well. Sir Axialrod assists Azim hitting twice. Errich moves to help Ulfgrim and Janthyra hitting once. Azim hits once. The combined effort of Sir Axialrod and Bane saves Azim from being hit. Janthyra hit once and Ulfgrim saved her from the second hit. Janthyra cast Vicious Mockery. Janthyra misses. Ulfgrim hits as does Sir Axialrod. Errich slips in and misses. Azim arrives and kills the last Helmed Horror.

The door at the back of the room leads to a short corridor and another doorway, which has another non-symmetrical room on the other side. On the floor are a dozen 3’ wide holes. There two totems of Asp’s. Rather than venturing further into the room the door beside the doorway is opened, a short corridor with a bricked up doorway half way down the length, which is secret door as well. Azim spots a pressure plate which the party avoids, and follows Janthyra’s direction through the secret door.

The secret door leads to empty prison cells. Passing through the empty prison through another set of doors the Stag Party find themselves in another corridor and a large room visible to the left.


This is massive temple with a number of Yuan-Ti and the body of a dwarf on the alter. Lining either side are statues of snakes with green flame out of their mouths. Three human with scales, one Yuan-Ti Abomination, three with human heads bodies and snakes for arms. The Yuan-Ti Abomination makes a deal we can have the dwarf as long as we leave. She points out he doesn’t have a soul. Errich asks for Varram’s dagger as well. He doesn’t have the the White Dragon Mask. Errich notices that the Dwarf is badly beaten up. In the end the party accepts. Sir Axialrod picks up the dwarf. The Stag Party slowly back out. Neither party have any trust of the other party.

The main corridor undulates much like the movement of a giant snake. Up the stairway to the moss bridge. Janthyra crosses first. Errich crosses nimbly next, bangs a spike and attaches rope. Azim next. Ulfgrim, with help from Jareath climbs slowly up . Lastly jareath. Janthyra doesn’t get to clap as someone fall to their doom. Back into the tomb area.

Basically Varram spills his guts. Varram has been on the out and another Dragon Cult member stole his White Dragon Mask. See Sir Axialrod asking questions gets results. This was why he here using the divining pool. Basically Jareath continues to threaten to kill him while the more sane members want to get him back to the Council of Waterdeep. Varram sees which way the wind is blowing as “offers” to come along. Varram agrees to dispel the devils, He has a deal with Zariel the Arch-duchess of Averness. (first layer of hell, where Tiamat resides). He banishes them back to Hell. The heroes head down the stairs.


The chamber below is a 30′×30′ bed chamber. Three corpses lie on the ground above them float a six Wraiths and two Specters. Jareath releases a Thunder Wave, watches as the magic does a little then retreats. Sir Axialrod then strides in swings away, killing two Wraiths then steps back. Ulfgrim casts Spirit Guardians. The Wraiths attack and get affected by the naked dwarven cherubs, one is humped to death. Janthyra cast Eldrich Blast destroying a Wraith. Errich shoots a Spectre as does Jareath (twice). Sir Axialrod then kills the two more Wraiths, walks forward next to a Spectre. Ulfgrim strides forward hitting a Spectre. Errich shoots one. Azim moves in too attack with his magical mace, killing the other Spectre. Sir Axialrod swings twice causing fear to flash across its incorporeal face. Ulfgrim hits with his Axe. Janthyra blasts it twice Eldrich Blast destroying the last one.

Searching the room, the chest has some robes, a ring and two scrolls. Janthyra uses her wand to work out there is a magic ring, scrolls and magic decanter and goblets. After determining that the books here did not belong to the ghost the party leaves the complex. Only to find that the horses have been eaten by Trolls. The party trudge in the direction of Boreskyr bridge.

Council of Waterdeep Part 2
Chasing the White Wyrm Speaker

The party approached 5 hooded Bearded Devils sitting around a table.


Sir Axialrod engages the Bearded Devils in a lovely conversation, they seem to have been ordered to work with Varram the White Wyrmspeaker. The Bearded Devils were ordered to guard a set of stairs that the Stag Party did not come up. In fact they had no problem the Stag Party from going through a set of doors behind them.

SIr Axialrod tries to trick the Bearded Devils to reveal who they are working for and why. They seem to have no interest in stopping the Stag Party. Nobody seems to want to start a fight. The corridor behind is a big room with a hole in the middle, a set of bulging double doors sit on the other side of the room. There are broken arrows, blood stains, and a dead human lie on the floor. On the far wall there is a sluice where water could flow. Errich investigates the cause of death on the body with little success, Jareath notices he was killed by a dagger in the back (low in the back).

Closer investigation reveals that the hole is not a hole but a depression for some water or pool. Errich looks at the arrows, made of stone carved with fangs. Ulfgrim recognizes that is the belongs to Merrshalk the god of the Yuan-Ti.

The next room is a twenty foot high chamber with a large sarcophagi sitting on a dais. Around the wall are life sized frescoes. Sir Axialrod approaches the dais. Hearing in our minds “You approach Diderius, I know what you seek. Varrum has been taken by the snake people and I shall open the way for you.” A secret door opens on the far side. Janthyra approaches the tomb and asks if he knows where the library books are so that we can return them. Making the right symbols of devotion. A hollow voice replies that he knows not where some are, but some may be in his bed chamber.


As this conversation takes place movement is seen down the corridor. Eight Lizardmen are seen running down the corridor. Sir Axialrod steps back to protect Janthyra. Azim assumes a defensive stance. Errich slips out of the room and hides. Jareath steps onto the sarcophagi and shoots a Lizardman then steps back. Janthyra then does the same. The Lizardman poor into the room. Missing both Azim and Ulfgrim. Ulfgrim swings with his Axe hitting a Lizardman. In short order all the Lizardman die.


As the last Lizardman dies four creatures with human bodies, snake heads and scimitars enter the room. Yuan-Ti. Janthyra casts Hex on one, then Eldrich Blasts it creature twice. Ulfgrim steps forth a hits the same Yuan-Ti once and casts Spiritual Weapon which also hits. Sir Axialrod steps forward and kills it, then knocks over another Yuan-Ti. Errich slips forward stabs the creature on the ground then slips between Sir Axialrods legs away from combat. Azim leaps forward smashing the Yuan-Ti three times. Jareath uses Vicious Mockery to wound the Yuan-Ti deeply. The Yuan-Ti use Suggestion to get Sir Axialrod, Azim and Jareath to leave. Ulfgrim steps forward to hits the Yuan-Ti in front of Azim. Breaking the Suggestion on Azim. SIr Axialrod turns and leaves the fight. Azim shakes off the effect of the spell, kills the Yuan-Ti in front of him. Errich does a dirty stab and slips out of combat again. Jareath turns and leaves the room. The Yuan-Ti hit Ulfgrim with a poison bite. Janthyra slips behind the fighter and using her spell sniper skill to hit one Yuan-Ti with Hex and Eldrich Blast twice killing it. Ulfgrim hits with his Axe and Spiritual Weapon . Errich slips through everyone’s legs hits the last Yuan-Ti with both daggers. Azim kills the last Yuan-Ti.

Leaving the dead Yuan-Ti and Lizardman the party head down the corridor into a cavern, some steep stairs head down to the darkness. The atmosphere has changed, it is a lot more moist and warm. There is a stone bridge sloops down across a crevice. Errich sees nothing, neither do the Dark Sighted party members. Errich leads the party down to the bridge, which under closer inspection is covered in moss. Janthyra volunteers to cross the bridge holding a rope. Sir Axialrod follows cautiously but slips. With arms flailing Sir Axialrod tries to catch the edge. Azim leaps into action to save Sir Axialrod, getting too him in time to catch him. Just like in the movies. From the other side of the bridge three Yuan-Ti step out shooting at Janthyra, Azima and Sir Axialrod. Hitting the struggling Sir Axialrod.

The Yuan-Ti move to attack Sir Axialrod and Janthyra. One stays where he is and shoots Azim who deflects most of the damage. Errich shoots the one fighting Janthyra. One Yuan-Ti just ignores Jareath’s Vicious Mockery. Azim steps back into the shadows, then Shadow Steps behind the last Yuan-Ti. Hitting it twice. Sir Axialrod hits his one twice, then again. Ulfgrim uses Sacred Flame but the Yuan-Ti dodges out of the way. Janthyra casts Poison Spray but it dodges away, she then uses Misty Step to step beside the monk. Luckily Janthyra can see in the dark (Devil Sight), seeing a corridor and a room but no evil creatures. The Yuan-Ti left with Sir Axialrod slashes him once.

The Yuan-Ti fighting the monk uses Suggestion on Azim to defend it against Janthyra. Errich shoots Yuan-Ti Sir Axialrod. Jareath casts Polymorph and turns into a spider, then scampers across the bridge (ignoring the slippery stones). Azim grapples Janthyra saving the Yuan-Ti. Sir Axialrod hits the Yuan-Ti behind him (next to Jareath the spider). Ulfgrim uses Guiding Bolt on the Yuan-Ti near Azim. Janthyra uses Misty Step away from the Monk and then Eldrich Blasts the Yuan-Ti. It then bites Janthyra. Errich misses with his bow shot and moves onto the moss bridge, but keeps his feet. Jareath the spider, bites the Yuan-Ti. Azim smashes the Yuan-Ti biting Janthyra to bits. In short order Sir Axialrod kills the last two badly injured Yuan-Ti. On the other side of the moss bridge Ulfgrim uses divine guidance, and bardic inspiration (or is it mockery) and crawling makes it across the Bridge. Very funny.

Council of Waterdeep
Attack of the Giant Frogs.

The day starts in the Council of Waterdeep, we were introduced to Dala Silmerhelve with information about the Draakhorn. She would not tell anyone why she knew this information which of course annoyed half the Council. Because of the assassination Remallia Haventree would like to strike back at the Cult.

Errich points out thwarting the Cult would strike back at them. All roads point to the sea of moving ice where a Tiefling Sorcerer (Mcath the Crimson, a member of the Arcane Brotherhood) who was researching the Draakhorn disappeared 3 years ago. Her last message was sent was following Ice Hunters, any further resulted finding her ship adrift and heavily damaged in the ice.

The Council have organised for a 60’ Longship called Frost Skimmer to transport the Stag Party to the sea of moving ice. As the Party were about to leave they were approached by Leosin Erlanthar with information about the where-abouts of the “White Wyrm Speaker”. Last seen at a place called Boareskyr Bridge, the place where the epic battle between Cyric and Bhaal took place, in the Serpent hills. This is seen as a good way to strike at the Cult and deprive them of another Dragon Mask.

The Party Votes, argues about rescuing the damsel (thanks Sir Axialrod). Errich insisting going after the Dwarf (Baron). At the end the Party decides (despite the protests of Janthyra) to head south. The Council will organised to teleport the party to a city, destination Elturel. Ontharr Frume, head of order of the Gauntlet, offers to accompany the party and outfit them for the journey (as Ulfgrim is a member of the Gauntlet).

It take the party about five days to arrive at Boarskyre Bridge. The huge black bridge has small community setup. the bridge is guarded by a patrol of Paladins. The report to Jareath that lots of unusual (banditry, robberies) even a fight at the Bolo Tentside Inn. A large tent with a ruff and tumble establishment. The party find that Bolo is a female halfling, when asking about the baron, the dwarf was looking for an escort to the hills after killing a “Scale Folk” from the hills. She believes he was a real hero, and disappeared into the hills about a week ago.

The party discover that the “Scale Folk” are Yan-Ti and Janthyra starts moaning. Errich finds the trail, 15 humanoids, heading to the Serpent Hills a week ago. The Serpent Hills are bad lands full of plateaus and rock formations, not very nice. The first day passes uneventfully but birds are seen circling. The second day the hero’s find a ruins where a campsite was made. Confirming that the Stag Party was on the right trail. Nearing the middle of the third day the path leads to a ruined settlement at the base of a sandstone cliff. The cliffs have stairs leading up to a hole 40’ up where the stairs have crumbled is a ladder. Carvings in the cliff face seem to be of otherworldly places. Two statues are seem to give warning about something. A campfire (glowing embers) is seen with three bed rolls, seven shallow graves can also be seen. Tracks can be seen leading to the stairs, well traveled, and drag marks leading away.

As we near the stairs the statues they turn and give warning, about approaching Diderius either walker and conduit of clairvoyance, but no one has heard of him. The Party are warned to approach with respect. The party climb the stairs come to the room, a richly decorated tomb. At the far end of the chamber is a open stone door. Inside the next chamber are 6 statues of cowled wizards, across the floor are bones of various creatures. Azim gives a warning about not looking under the cowls of the wizards. Janthyra ignores this and looks. All the statues turn and look at her. She looks a bit strange but nothing happens. Errich also looks but also gets nothing. The next room has a fresco of a Knight fighting a Chimera. A door is marked in chalk with the word “safe”. The other doors have noticeable bulge to them.

As the party enter the room the tiles underneath start moving around forming into a Tile Chimera and attacks the party. Cool. Errich throws a dagger then retreats out of the room. Azim moves behind it, as he strikes at it becomes a tile wide making it difficult to hit. Janthyra moves into the room casts Hex and then Eldrich Blast hitting twice. Sir Axialrod moves forward shield bashes it, then hits with his morning star twice. Jareath stands in the doorway and shoots it twice. Ulfgrim moves forward hits with his axe and also Spiritual Weapon.

The Tile Chimera bites horns and claws the party. It breaths fire on Sir Axialrod and Ulfgrim, seriously burning Ulfgrim as Sir Axialrod ducked behind his shield. Errich shoots it with his bow. Azim hits it twice with his mace, and then punches it once. Janthyra then casts Eldrich Blast hitting it once. Sir Axialrod swings his flail shattering it into multiple pieces.

Errich inspects the door finding nothing, Sir Axialrod then opens the “Safe” door. In the room is a well with a bronze bucket on a rope. There is a brass lever above the basin, 8’ up the wall, there are red mushrooms around the edge of the well giving it the sheen of blood. There is sleeping gear scattered around (enough for five) on the wall is written “Safe”. The Bards casts light on the bucket underneath is water. Jareath then puts water from the well in the basin pulls the leaver, which drains the water.

Back in the Chimera room Sir Axialrod attempts to open the bulging door, in thunderous noise stones rushes hitting the Unicorn Knight (dumb ass). The corridor slopes sharply down. Stepping forward there is an audible click, in the room above rising from room is a large bolder made of skelletle bodies, the heros are all pulled into the mass, except Azim (who steps to the side). Jareath, Ulfgrim and Errich slip out. Sir Axialrod and Janthyra are carried to the end where it smashes into the end wall, knocking Janthyra out again.

At the bottom of this trap is a room. Dust and the smell of incense fill the room. Tapestries cover the calls. Everyone except Errich hear a warning in the heads, from Mystral the fallen Goddess of knowledge. There is a hole in the wall with a sarcophagi. Nothing disturbs the party for the next while the Dwarf uses Prayer of Healing. After searching there are six sarcophagi. Connecting to the next little corridor looks to be the remains of a library. In the middle of the room a form appears, a spectral forms sits on a chair.

“Why to have you come to the Library”

Janthyra stumbles her response. Which causes the Ghost to breakdown. Something needs to be done to let the Ghost sleep. The party offer to find and return any books to Diderius library. She, between sobs, tells the party of some of Diderius’s history. Out a set of double doors.

The next room houses a large 12’ golden man sitting on a throne. As the party enter the mans golden voice tells us to leave treasure at his feet to get Diderius’s insight. The party puts a large amount of money in front of him. Nothing is said. Silence. So the party head up the stairs to the right of the 12’ golden man.

The next room has three tables, two stone tables and a marble table. On the door the Party have left is written “Danger?”. Five creatures in hoods sit around the marble table, looking up as the party enters.

Day ends.

Stedding of the Hill Giants - Part 2

The kitchen went quiet as the Orcs, Ogres and Hill Giants met grizzly ends. Errich had a quick look through the dead, finding nothing. With little options the party head out the door Azim was guarding.

The corridor is 20’ wide, a large double door Finding a room with two drunk Hill Giants, seeing that these were guarding the stairs down, meaning that they would stop us from coming up. Something had to be done. Errich was given first attack, using Jareath’s inspiration, did a significant wound to the very drunk almost helpless creature. Seeing that it only hurt the beast, Sir Axialrod stepped forward and smashed it twice, Azim followed up killing it.

Errich moved up trying to kill the other as well, but had less success. Jareath, Ulfgrim, Janthyra, Jareath, Sir Axialrod and Azim proceeded to bash the creature to death.

The stairs down lead to a large room containing treasure chests, and prisoners chained around the outside. Human villages, dwarves and Giant Children. Using the keys by the door, the Stag Party free the prisoners. Janthyra manages to convince the Giant Children to come with us (even with her mask on). They end up taking extra time to convince a dwarf to escape with us. Errich finds some odd nick-knacks to help his collection. The party find nothing of note. Heading up the stairs. The party try to make their way out the Stedding without alerting the Hill Giant party. The party make their way back to the Wyverns.

Errich offers to lead the escapees while the others get the Giant Children back to Blagothkus. Errich points a to a Felice shaped hill as a meeting point. The two giant children, two dwarves, Sir Axialrod, Azim and Ulfgrim take to the skies.

Errich leads the remaining party off. With the watchfulness of the halfing the second party arrives safely, Jareath then proceeds to us a Ritual to create Leamonds Tiny Hut. In a couple of hours the Wyverns return and start to ferry the ex-prisoners back to Skyreach Castle.

Blagothkus wants to convince that leader to change sides. He asks where we want to go. He informs the party that he was to deliver the gold/treasure to a place called the the “Well of Dragons” where they are creating an army where they were to summon Tiamat. In the end the Castle is stared toward Waterdeep. As the Castle passes over the north, the Stag Parties heart is broken at the destruction the Cult has wrought.

A week of travel the party arrives at the edge of waterdeep. Blagothkus presents a suit of Dragon Scale armour that he made. He offers us help in the future. Jareath accepts the offer of the armour (it is very cool). Janthyra finally reallises that the Dragon Mask armour gives her the ability to resist the pull of the Dragon Mask itself. Janthyra tells us of her dreams, we must hide and stop the other dragon masks from being combined. Thus stopping Tiamat from crawling up the abyss. She of course tells that is her tentacle deity gave he the hints.

Jareath finds his contacts. Apparently there is to be a great council of the Lords of the Sword Coast, we are to be invited. The Stag Party has definitely moved up in the world.

Moving through the streets of Waterdeep, there is a strange change in the breeze. Everything has gone quiet, dogs stop barking, vendors become silent. The moment passes and everything returns to normal. The party asks around about the disturbance. A woman named Dala Silmerhelve may information on the event. Seeking her out in the noble quarter. She invites us to cake and tells us the disturbance is a thing called the Draakhorn…. an ancient device that lets all dragon-kind know that great events are about to unfold, and they will eventually answer the call. It is impossible to know what it means, only that it is not good for the little people.

The Stag Party purchase some nice clothes for the Council of Waterdeep.

The Council takes place in the Lord’s Palace of Waterdeep. The Guards sigh as Errich says we are invited, the Stag Party. “We’re here for a good time not a long time.” Reluctantly we are shown to meet our contact then into the council chamber meeting the various factions in the hope with our knowledge we can unite the factions to save Faerun. A lot of very powerful Lords of the Realms with their own agenda’s.

The Council is headed by Lord Dagult Neverember and consists of the following Lords… Connerad Brawnavil, Delaan Winterhound, King Melandrach, Marshall Ulder Ravengard, Ontharr Frume, Remallia Haventree, Sir Isteval and Taern “Thunderspells” Hornblade.

Jareath (combined with the Stag Party) tells the tale. The Council imbue the party with special investigative powers to solve the crisis. Dala Silmerhelve steps forward to give us more information on the Draakhorn, we need to find a tiefling called Maccath the Crimson last seen in a place called the sea of moving ice. We need to find her to get more information.

Day ends with Errich hoping to find a ship.

Stedding of the Hill Giants - Part 1
Tracking Blaothkus's children.

Planning begins to rescue Blagothkus’s children. In order to ensue the children recognise the party as being friendly the group gather some personal items and learn the nicknames used by Blagothkus.

During the journey Janthyra Tarmeikos begins having nightmarish dreams, awakening each morning each more and more haggard and lacklustre, not to mention having serious headaches.

The party mount the Wyverns and prepare to launch into the air. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam successfully whispers in the ear of his steed and launches into the air, followed by AZIM and Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer. After a short detour, Sir Axialrod Moonbeam catches up with the rest of party and catches sight of the Stedding of the Hill Giants.

At a glance, the watchtower appears to be burnt to the ground, with human sized tents nearby. AZIM uses his Ki powers to cast Pass Without Trace on the party who attempt to sneak to one of the doors of the burnt watch door. As they get closer, the burnt part begins to move and a red and scaly beast – a Red Dragon – emerges from the ruins 30’ from the party.


Errich moves off to one side and fires his bow at the beast, successfully nicking it. Jareath Lockwind shoot his bow twice, hitting once, again moving to ensure the breath weapon hits as few as possible. Janthyra Tarmeikos moves away. Casting Hex on the Dragon, before Eldritch Blasting the Dragon twice with big damage. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer moves towards the fighter, casting Warding Bond, and moving on. The dwarf then Action Surges to move again and casts Sacred Flame, but the Dragon saves and takes no damage. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam charges into the Dragon and swings at the beast, hitting it and terrifies the Dragon. A mighty swing indeed! The fighter action surges and hits the Dragon again, this time twice. AZIM also runs in to hit the Dragon with his new mace, which bounces off his scaly hide. His second attack hits, before dropping into a defensive stance.

The Dragon roars in pain and frustration, and takes to the air. Both the fighter and monk miss with their attacks as it flies off into the distance.

Errich fires again at the Dragon, this time missing. Jareath Lockwind also shoots, this time hitting once for paltry damage. Janthyra Tarmeikos hits twice again with her Eldritch Blast, the days of lack of sleep, seemingly not having any affect of her ability to cast spells. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer takes guard, ensuring he stays within range of his spell. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam and AZIM clamber over the ruins.

The Dragon flies out of range of the party.

The party move back together, preparing for the next wave to occur. From the tents, people begin moving around. The party attempts to hide in the rubble. The party can hear the Cultist poking around in the rubble and muttering about the dragon’s leaving, before going back to their tents. Janthyra Tarmeikos uses the Wand of Treasure detection to search for treasure but only find the bones of large wolves.

Sir Axialrod Moonbeam listens at a set of double doors and can hear the sound of children playing, the sound of very large children. The party sneak to the next set of doors and again listen, this time hearing the sounds of a kitchen at work.

The party attempt to open the double doors leading to the sounds of playing children. Errich successfully pushes open the door, surprisingly quietly. Seeing more than a dozen 7’ tall Hill Giant children, the party decide to go another direction and sneak towards the next set of double doors. Again, Errich pushes open the giant sized doors. This room looks like a den with two chairs covered in human skin. Just off the Den is a pile of straw.

Errich searches the pile of straw but comes to the realization that the pile is the bed of a big bear. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam sneaks past the straw pile to see a fairly large room. A large fire pit is in the centre of the room, a long table sits at the back of the hall with 5 chairs, the room is also full of Hill Giants laughing and drinking. In a massive chair sits the biggest Hill Giant yet with a Great Bear at his feet.

Deciding this is a bad idea, the party backs out and back into the ruined watch tower, instead trying the door with no sound coming from behind it. In this room, it looks like a empty dining room with massive dining table in the middle. A Copper Dragon head is mounted above the fireplace. Ohhh, the villains.

The party open the door to the kitchen, again the door makes no sound as it slowly opens revealing varying kitcheny things. Two Hill Giants yell instructions at their minions – 12 Orcs and 3 Ogres. Knowing there is no way to cross the room the party launches an attack on the kitchen staff.


Errich Uses Hunters Mark on the Ogre, then fires his arrow, doing mass damage to the poor Ogre, then runs under the 7’ tall table. AZIM runs through the room, looking to block the exit. Jareath Lockwind moves into the corner of the kitchen and uses the Wand of Winter to cast Ice Storm killing 4 Orcs and wounding two of the Ogres and both giants, one worse than the other. The bard sings little ditty for the fighter. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam charges at the Ogre and hits.

The Orcs run at the heroes. 1 hits Jareath Lockwind. A mob attacks Errich, two hitting him. A couple attack Sir Axialrod Moonbeam, while flanking and both hit. Another mob attacks AZIM, all missing their attacks.

Janthyra Tarmeikos moves up to the door and casts a twin-spelled Crown of Madness on the Hill Giants affecting one of them. Unfortunately, the wild magic surge causes her to disappear. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer rushes to protect the halfling and casts Spirit Guardians as he gets there.

The Ogres move to attack the party, one dies by the little naked dwarven cherubs, another swots the fighter mightily, and restrains the fighter with its chain.

One Hill Giant, with the Crown of Madness picks up a barrel of vinegar and throws it at Jareath Lockwind, hitting the poor, now vinegar smelling bard, which unfortunately ends this turn. The other Hill Giant moves towards the monk, swinging twice but misses.

Errich disengages from the Orcs and moves behind the Ogre, stabbing him in the back, killing him. Errich is now standing in the open. AZIM attacks the Orcs surrounding him, killing one of them and drops in a defensive stance. Jareath Lockwind pulls out his rapier and kills the Orc fighting him and moves behind the dwarf. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam moves away from the Orc, one hitting as he moves away and attacks the Ogre, knocking him to the ground with a well timed shield bash, before hitting him twice.

Two of the Orc’s die from the spirit guardians swarming them as they begin their actions. Three attack the dwarf, two hitting, while one move towards the halfling, hitting him as well. The halfling squeals – Is this what pain feels like. Three attack the monk, all missing.

Janthyra Tarmeikos casts Hex on one of the Hill Giants, but misses with her Eldritch Blasts. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer Casts Spiritual Weapon on a Hill Giant, then swings his Hue the axe at a nearby Orc, killing it.

The remaining Ogre stands up and smashes the fighter, again dealing damage and restraining the fighter again. One of the Hill Giants moves beside the fighter and swings at him, hitting once. The fighter attempt to counter attack the miss, but fails miserably. The other Hill Giant swings twice at the monk, again missing.

Errich disengages from his opponent and moves behind the Hill Giant and sneak attacks as he runs off. AZIM kills another Orc and once again goes into a defensive stance. Jareath Lockwind climbs the barrels and up onto the table and casts Bane on one of Hill Giants, Ogre. and an Orc. All fail their saves. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam knocks the Ogre off his feet with his shield bash and kills him with a downward strike, before hitting the giant and frightens him as he hits.

The Orcs swing at the cleric, missing twice. The Orc attacking the fighter miss as do the ones attacking the monk.

Janthyra Tarmeikos Eldritch Blasts the Hill Giant fighting the fighter, hitting once. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer moves closer to the giant bringing the Spirit Guardians closer, and moves the spiritual Weapon to the Hill Giant, again hitting.

The Hill Giant swings at the fighter missing twice. The fighter counter attacks, hitting back. The Hill Giant fighting the monk missing twice.

Errich stabs the badly wounded Hill Giant in the leg, bringing it down, then spins and stabs an Orc, killing that one too. AZIM continues hitting the Orcs, killing one of the team, again, dropping into his defensive stance. Jareath Lockwind casts Confusion on the Hill Giant and the Orc, both fail their saves. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam ignores the Orc, who taps the fighter as he leaves and moves behind the Hill Giant, hitting once.

One Orc follows the fighter and misses. The confused Orc wanders off and the monk punches as he leaves, killing him.

Janthyra Tarmeikos moves her Hex from the dead Hill Giant to the other and then hits twice with her Eldritch Blast. Ulfgar (Ulfgrim) Foehammer also moves his Spirtual Weapon and hits the Hill Giant.

The confused Hill Giant does nothing this turn.

Errich moves his Hunters Mark then shoots at the Hill Giant, hitting with a ballista bolt. AZIM moves towards the Hill Giant and kills it. Jareath Lockwind fires his bow, hitting once. Sir Axialrod Moonbeam knocks the Orc to the ground, then butchers it.

All is quiet.

Tracking the Cult Part 4
Trying to eliminate the cult from Skyreach Castle

With the removal of the two Red Wizards only the White Dragon, Glazhael the Cloudchaser, remained. With Janthyra nearly overcome by the power of the Black Dragon Mask, no help would come from that quarter.

The plan to face the dragon is to scout thee area and try and draw the dragon into a corridor where we might have an advantage.

Nearing thee dragons lair the blue frost covered corridors contain coins, Kobolds and an Ogre or two. In the multi level cave contains the massive horde of treasure stolen from the villages of Ferun. Clinging to the sealing above the horde is a huge white dragon. Backing up the Stag party tries to empower themselves with magic.


The fight starts with Janthyra climbing the wall inside the cavern, then blasting the Dragon with Hex and Edrich Blast. Errich then moves into the room casts his first ranger spell, Hunters Mark, then shoots it nicking its wing. The Lair pus up an ice wall across the entrance. Sir Axialrod then smashes his way through the wall, moves onto the treasure pile throwiing a hammer at the Dragon. Azim moves into the room, sprints further using his wand to cast Magic Missile hitting the dragon. Jareath moves forward casting Dissonant Whisper pushing the Dragon back. The Dragon looks angry moves forward and blasts the party with its cold breath, hitting Errich, Janthyra, Jareath and Sir Axialrod. Ulfgrim casts Guiding Bolt covering it light. Errich using the guiding light hits the Dragon again.

The lair causing a fog to enshroud the entrance in a freezing fog, knocking out the Jareath. Sir Axialrod then moves out of the fog throwing a dagger at the Dragon. The Dragon reacts by flicking Sir Axialrod with his tail. Azim rushes in hitting it with his staff twice, almost stunning the beast. He then hits with fists once.

Surprisingly Jareath stands up and casts Dissonant Whisper. The Dragon activates its frightening presence. It then turns an claws Azim twice but misses its bite due to being frightened by Sir Axialrod. Ulfgrim uses his channel divinity to heal the Jareath, also healing Azim with healing word. The Dragon flaps it wings, knocking over Azim, the Dragon then flys toward the entrance.

Jantyra then uses Hex and Eldrich Blast hitting it twice. Errich hits with his bow shot. Some of the icicles of the roof fall down, hitting the Azim, Errich and Janthyra. Knocking Janthyra out again. Sir Axialrod shoots the Dragon with his bow, killing the beast. So ends Glazhael the Cloudchaser.

Janthyra grumbles but uses her magic wand to detect magic. Then using a combination of Fire Bolt to find some treasure. A potion of Gaseous form, a mace (Lightbriner, + 1, + D6 radiant damage vs undead), an Axe (Hew, + 1 Battleaxe), Braces of Defense ( +2 AC) and 500,000cp, 100,000sp, 5,000gp, a chest 800pp and 21×300gp sapphires. As the Stag Party search Blagothkus arrives and comments about the good work.

Blagothkus then directs Skyreach Castle in the direction of his children. The party decided to rest and enjoy the time as the Castle slowly drifted in the direction of the Cloud giants children. Janthyra insisted that she should try out the mask again, to learn more information. Neither Jareath or Ulfgrim would help with a soul sucking artifact. Janthyra, as was her weakness, again put on the Black Dragon Mask. She was able to resist losing her soul but was immediately located by the other Mask wearers. She was able to attune the Mask giving the wearer Draconic powers. Egged on by Errich she also tried to attune the Greatsword but it wanted nothing to do with a squid worshiper.

The day ends, with the cults treasures taken, a cloud giant as an ally and most party members contemplating their personal growth.

Tracking the Cult Part 3
Clearing the cult from Skyreach Castle

With the mission from Blagothkus to clear the Castle of the Cult. Where would the Stag Party start first? Rezmir, Azbara Jos or the White Dragon guarding the horde. The Stag Party coordinate the assault with Blagothkus.

Descending the spirals into the courtyard below, Azim summons the Ki of Pass without Trace as the party tries to get the jump on Rezmir. Most of the party does well Ulfgrim uses the power of his Goddess to assist his sneaking.

Outside the doors of Rezmir’s room are two guards. Que battle music in a hopefully quiet fashion. The heroes sneak through the enormous ice-door but the guards notice that the shadows have changed and are unnatural. Luckily, the heroes surprise the hapless guards with Jareath moving quickly casting Vicious Mockery. Erich misses due to the armour. Sir Axialrod, Azim and Janthyra use flails, fists and magic to kill one guard and wounding the other. Errich sneaks through the parties legs stabbing the guard in his blind spot as Sir Axialrod steps up to hit the guard who is smashed to pieces.

Sir Axialrod then pushes open Rezmir’s door, revealing a large bedroom with large rugs covering the icy floor. Rezmir is present with two large drakes. Sir Axialrod steps forward and throws his hammer hitting her. The room goes dark, as Rezmir brings forth darkness. Azim moves through the darkness and uses his wand of Magic Missiles on a guard drake. Sir Axialrod ducks under a blast of something nasty. Ulfgrim moves into the darkness next to Sir Axialrod. Janthyra sees into the magical darkness Hex’s Rezmir then blasts her with Eldrich Blast. Jareath moves up beside Errich and hums a little ditty to inspire Azim.

Errich fumbles through his bag of holding pulls out the Boar Hunting Spear hands it to Jareath then slips to the side. Azim hits the Guard Drake with lots of attacks. Rezmir moves past Sir Axialrod to hitting Ulfgrim, causing a large amount of damage from a sword and magical necrotic damage. The Guard Drake bites and tail whips Azim. Ulfgrim hits Rezmir then she smashes Ulfgrim. Sir Axialrod smashes the rug. Janthyra then blasts Rezmir twice with Eldrich Blast. Jareath uses the Daylight spell, dispelling the darkness. Errich slips next to Ulfgrim, drives two daggers into Rezmir, killing her. She immediately turns into a pile of ash. Sir Axialrod kills the rug attacking him. Azim kills the Guard Drake attacking him. Janthyra moves her Hex to the last Guard Drake, but misses it with Eldrich Blast. It ignores Jareaths Vicious Mockery. Errich stabs it twice, Sir Axialrod hits it twice, Azim kills it.

Searching the pile of Ash, a magical evil sword, a broach in the shape of a dragon claw and a Dragon Mask are discovered. Sir Axialrod picks up the Great sword. Searching the room they find nothing. The Stag Party hear the sound of Ogres attacking cult members. The party head across the courtyard to the tower of the Red Wizards. The tower door is shut. Janthyra climbs the ice covered door to open the latch. Sir Axialrod pushes open the door. The large rooms roof is covered in horse skulls, four still Gargoyles and two Red Wizards of Thay.

Sir Axialrod rushes into the room, fails to knock over Rath Modar, hits him once, action surges and hits him again. Errich rushes into room, poisons Azbara Jos, while stabbing him. Jareath misses with bow shot. Azim causes it to go quiet. Ulfgrim casts Sacred Flame and Spiritual Weapon killing Azbah Jos, the mage, in front of Errich. Janthyra uses Eldrich Blast to hit the other mage.

The Gargoyles move to attack the Stag Party. One on Janthyra bites and claws her. One claws Sir Axialrod. One claws Ulfgrim. Rath Modar does something. Sir Axialrod misses as it appears to be a illusion of some kind. He then misses a Gargoyle. Errich misses with his dagger on a Gargoyle then slips out of combat. Jareath shoots one Gargoyle. Azim attacks a Gargoyle hit it with magical fists. Ulfgrim hits with his Spirual Weapon. Janthyra uses Misty Step to escape the Gargoyle and Eldrich Blast to hit a Gargoyle. The Gargoyles then claw and bite party members. Rath Modar casts a vast Fire Ball hurting much of the Party and killing three Gargolyes. Sir Axialrod then smashes Rath Modar and his body melts into a puddle. Errich then kills the last Gargoyle.

The Stag Party search the room, in it is a book. Not destroyed by Fire Balls, it is written in a language no one understands. It deals in summoning things.

Day ends with party taking a short rest.
Three items found:
Hazirawn the Greatsword
Black Dragon mask – Janthyra sees images of a Dwarf, Elf, Calashite human and another human with masks on. They of course see her, making her a target. One with dragon one his shoulder (the Calashite) saw her.


Janthyra feels her shrivelled soul being sucked into the mask so pulls the Mask off before learning anything.
The Mask enhances Draconic abilities.
Insignia of Claws ( flares with purple in melee combat giving +1 to hit and damage with Natural Weapons) – Azim Claims this.

Tracking the Cult Part 2
Parnast and the Sky Castle

Failing to find clues the Stag Party heads in the direction of Parnast. The Stag Party wanted the “ranger” Errich to track the loot, he immediately led them to the only trail leading down the mountain.

Following the path, passing trees and babbling brooks enjoying the fresh mountain air, in about half a day the heroes arrive at the village of Parnast. Next to it is a mighty ice castle, built to the scale of giants. Debate as its origin.


Five Cultists lurk around the well. The Stag Party approach, with Jareath talking to the guards, but the surly guard doesn’t give away too much information. Errich and Sir Axialrod fail to glean any information from the local merchants. But the team work of Sir Axialrod and Jareath reveal that the Cult uses this as a loading zone for the castle. There are also giants present in the castle which only arrived a few weeks ago.

Lots of snide and subtle comments about perhaps if we didn’t kill Talis the White we could have got more information from her and this would have been much easier…

Sir Axialrod and Janthyra determine that the stables contain a large lizard, probably a wyvern. The Stag Party head to the local tavern with a golden Mug on the sign. The tavern goes quiet as the Stag Party enter, Sir Axialrod offers up 1gp for drinks. Azim sits it a shadowed corner and Errich in another. Sir Axialrod advertises that he only deals in gold. A patron arrives and asks if we are adventurers, Axialrod replies that he is not a adventurer but a knight. After a round of drinks it is revealed that the cult arrived about a year ago, led by Rezmir the half dragon and imposed their will though a bunch of thugs. Rezmir hasn’t been seen for a while but the village is under the protection of Captain Othelstan a long time member of the Cult. How dastardly.


At the mention of the Captain, the door to the tavern opens and a man matching the Captains description walks in. Que dialog…. what brings the visitors here? ….. our feet. Blah Blah. Basically the evil Captain wants us to move on but the Jareath refuses to bow to the pressure of a brigand. Jareath starts a battle ditty. Interestingly it is Jareath starting the fight not Sir Axialrod. Janthyra lobs a gold coin in the direction of Errich. The two Cultists accompanying the Captain Othelstan attack Jareath and Janthyra. Sir Axialrod shield saves janthyra.. Ulfgrim responds with violence, striking Captain Othelstan with his hammer. The other two cultists enter the barroom. Captain Othelstan hits Ulfgrim twice. Jareath and Sir Axialrod kill the first two Cultists. Errich runs between the legs of the Cultists out the door, shuts the door and looks it from the outside. Janthyra blasts one with a Eldrich Blast. Azim moves forward and then kills him.

Four more Cultists pore though the kitchen doorway, hitting Janthyra. The main fight continues, with hits being exchanged on both sides but in the end all the Cultists killed. Meanwhile Errich had ran around the outside of the building and in the back door, only to be confronted by a battleaxe wielding Cultst in an apron. Who promptly smashes Errich. Janthyra intimidates the Captain to surrender. Sir Axialrods’ mercenaries bash at the cultist as does Azim. He finally dies due to Vicious Mockery from Jareath. Errich informs the heroes that the Castle is in the air.

Jareath interrogates Captain Othelstan but he refuses to talk. Ignoring all intimidation attempts and questions.

Meanwhile Azim has made friends with Gundalin the wheelwright, who hates the cult, informs us that the cultists us the Wyverns to fly to the Castle and the hidden passwords of:

  • Hail Tiamat, our mother and strength.
  • Hail Blagothkus (Blah-goth-cus), the giants who’s castle it is.


Heading to the stable, opening the doors, sit three Wyverns, with saddles. Between the Sir Axialrod, Azim and Ulfgrim the domesticated Wyverns are saddled. Sir Axialrod has to release the three veterans from service because only six saddle slots are available. He pays them their wages, with extra to help Gundalin clear off the remaining cultists. After a comical couple of moments the Stag party mounts the Wyverns and takes off, with the wheelwright waving us off. Then with a bit of luck the stag party points the Wyvern in the direction of the castle and seemingly under control. Errich ticks off another item off his bucket list.


Flying through the clouds, the Giants Castle emerges out of the mists, the Castle is made from huge blocks of ice and stone. Following the direction of the Wyverns the figures we saw were in fact Ogres. Landing in the “normal” courtyard six Ogres approach. The heroes hail the Ogres with the correct passwords the Ogres take the reins of the Wyvrens and offer to take us to Blagothkus. Big Cheeks the Ogre leads the party into the Giant proportioned Castle. The hero’s pass through the barracks full of Ogres (a horde even) to a 70’ tall tower at the back of the Castle. The 20’ door is made ice with the door handle being 10’ in the air. Subtle intimidation. As the door opens a chime sounds, inside there are four Ogres with Armour and plumed helmets.


Big Cheeks says something to the guards. One opens the internal 20’ foot door. The walls the sculpted with figures of Clouds Giants riding large Eagles. The resident giant is sitting on the ground, legs crossed with his hair being combed by two Ogres. Jareath tells the truth with prompting from Errich and Sir Axialrod. “We’re not with the Cult and were wondering why a Giant so esteemed as Blagothkus would stoop to work for his mortal enemies, the Dragons?” His frown disappears and he inquires if we are the ones who have giving Rezmir trouble. The Stag party strike a deal with Blagothkus. His children have been captured by a bunch of Hill Giants. We promise to rescue the children but in the meantime help clear the Castle. He did laugh at Errich’s grand statement “By my life or death I will free your children”. He plans to lock himself away in the steering room while we deal with, Rezmir, the Red Wizards, and the White Dragon (who is guarding the treasure). His Ogres will deal with the other Cultists.

Day ends, flying Wyverns, boarding a castle, making a deal with Blagothkus.

Tracking the Cult
Searching the Hunting Lodge, ambushed by Trolls

Previously the fight may have started a little prematurely… Now searching.

Searching the first floor. Entering a room a man is found in a room, probably Wessic the Wizened. His bed is surrounded by empty bottles. Sir Axialrod gets one of his new minions to wake him up. Wessic seeing how things are stacked decides that changing sides is a good idea.

The two ex-prisoners. Wanting food so the butler was called. The next room a wrack of weapons, a magic spear called “Dragon Gleam” (Code word “Timats eyes shine”) and mithral spear tip (50gp). The main hall (Queen of dragons hall) has a massive tapestry depicting Tiamat and a number of tapestries showing different coloured dragons buring and destroying famous land marks around Faerun. Going down the stairs the butler offers us something to eat. He also warns us that one room contains armor that attacks people. The meal consists of some sort of stake (medium rare venison), roast potatoes and other vegetables.


Halfway through the meal the stag party is disturbed by a commotion in the kitchen and Trolls and Ambush Drakes are seen outside the front window. Trepsin the Troll from the kitchen. Que battle music. Sir Axialrod barricades the to the hall. Azim has a look through the corridor to the kitchen. Azim can hear voices on the other side of the kitchen. Claws can be heard on wood of the door to the entry hall. Note the statues guarding the main door no longer work. Jareath prepares to shoot anything appearing down the hall to the kitchen. Ulfgrim helps form the barricade. More stomping can be heard. Jareath shoots at Trespin the Troll as he opens the kitchen door at the end of the corridor. Errich finishes his mouthful and hides under the table.


Azim uses his wand and shoots Trespin the Ambush Drakes rush past Trespin through the corridoor and miss Azim. Jareath casts Herosim on Azim and Sir Axialrod. Ulfgrim hits the the Ambush Drake with Sacred Flame and Spiritual Weapon. The Trolls pound away at the other door, the troll basically smashes through the door. The other door opens in the corridoor and more Ambush Drakes are let in. Janthyra casts Hex and Fire Bolt hitting a Troll. Sir Axialrod hits the Troll that broke through the wall twice. Azim kills the Ambush Drake. The ambush Drakes poor into the kitchen, attacking Azim. Jareath casts Viscous Mockery on the Troll. Ulfgrim moves his Spiritual Weapon on top of the Troll. One troll walks in the kitchen and smashes at the wall. The other Troll doesn’t do well breaking in the table blocking the doorway. Sir Axialrod hits the Troll at the table, knocking it out. Azim attacks the next Ambush Drake.


Jareath calls to Errich, “Have you still got the Kobold fire Bomb?” He then _casts Mage Hand summoning a mystical hand next to Errich. Ulfgrim drops the Spiritual Weapon anvil on the Ambush Drake killing it. The previously KOed Troll stands up and rips the table to bits, clearing the way. The other Troll is less than enthusiastic in attacking the wall. Janthyra casts Scorching Ray at the Troll at the table, burning it to death. Trespin arrives and rips shit out of the Ulfgrim’s shield as he defends Sir Axialrod. Errich leaps up and throws the dagger at Trespin hitting him with the Dagger of Venom but he resists the poison. Sir Axialrod hits him twice. Azim kills the Ambush Drake. He then steps back, mistakenly leaving a gap for the Ambush Drakes to run into the room. They all attack Azim, causing minor wounds. Jareath pulls out his sword hitting the Ambush Drake. Ulfgrim hits Trespin with Sacred Flame and Spiritual Weapon. The Troll rips the wall to bits, and attacks Sir Axialrod as well. Janthyra uses Hex on Trespin and casts Scorching Ray at him. Strangely she seems to rejuvenate a year. Trespin rips at Sir Axialrod.

Finally Wessic moves in and kills an Ambush Drake, the other two mercenaries also move in attacking the Guard Drakes from behind. Sir Axialrod then kills Trespin. Azim kills the last two Ambush Drakes. Jareath finally moves his Mage Hand to drop a Fire Bomb on the Trolls head. Ulfgrim misses the Troll with Sacred Flame but hits with Spiritual Weapon. The Trolls claws Sir Axialrod once. Janthyra casts Fire Bolt hitting the Troll. Errich rushes through and picks up his dagger and moves behind the Troll. Sir Axialrod kills the Troll. Huzzah.

Errich searches Trespin’s corpse. Then has a look in the kitchen where three humans cower in the corner.


Janthyra volunteers to climb to the roof to the look. On the roof she sees two Perytons in their big nest. Seeing her….. dinner served. Janthyra immediately sprints back to the safety. Jareath drives them off with two bow shots. Thinking they have fled Janthyra and Sir Axialrod climb on the roof to have a look at their nest. Opps they just flown home. Sir Axialrod shoots one. Janthyra casts Hex and Eldrich Blast. Jareath climbs up, shoots at a Peryton killing it. Errich sprints up the hole and across the roof to use a “shield” on Janthyra. She immediately attacks and cancels the Sanctuary effect. The Preyton, enraged at the death of it’s mate attacks janthyra, knocking her out. Sir Axialrod pours some tea (Potion of Healing) down Janthyra’s throat. Jareath shoots, killing the final Preyton.

Searching the nest, they find some a bag of tarnished kitchen ware (100gp) and a shield.

Seeing that most defenders are dead, the Stag party search the stables, Errich notes that there are Wyvern tracks, but no creatures are present. The kennels contains what remains of Ambush Drakes, three spears forming a tripod forming some type of demonic alter. Errich finds hanging in the kneels some nice pelts and a Winter Wolf cloak with mithral cloak (worth a total of about 1000gp). The Stag Party does feel tired after being up for about 16 hours. A long rest is required.
